US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff reported on the meeting between the US and russian delegations, during which they discussed a number of issues.

He said this on X on the night of March 12.

"Today in Florida, the Russian delegation led by Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev met with the U.S. delegation," the statement said.

The American delegation included Witkoff himself, as well as businessman and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum.

"The teams discussed a variety of topics and agreed to stay in touch," the Special Envoy added.

It should be noted that Dmitriev was the first russian official to visit Washington after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. At the time, the US government temporarily lifted sanctions against him so that the State Department could issue him a visa to enter the US.

In October, Dmitriev arrived in the United States after sanctions were imposed on leading russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil and brought candy with quotes from putin.

As a reminder, on March 9, US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin had a phone conversation, in which they discussed the war of the aggressor state of russia in Ukraine, as well as the Middle East. According to Trump, the discussions were positive.

Also, on March 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that the trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States and the aggressor country russia are postponed due to the situation around Iran at the suggestion of the American side.

Meanwhile, a CNN article citing sources said that the aggressor state russia helps Iran to strike at US troops and the Persian Gulf states, by providing tactics for the use of strike drones.

And the russian leadership officially denies any exchange of intelligence with Iran that could be used to strike US military targets.
