The russian occupation army has abandoned a number of positions on the Oleksiivskyi Island, which is located east of Kherson. Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, informed Ukrinform about this.

According to Voloshyn, Ukrainian intelligence has recorded the abandonment of russian positions on the Oleksiivskyi Island. This is due to the active actions of the Ukrainian military and the low moral and psychological state of the occupiers themselves.

As a result of the strikes, the russians are unable to restore observation posts on the island.

"The enemy cannot bring its observers there now," Voloshyn explained.

He added that in the Kherson sector, the occupants are busy regrouping their forces. Airborne troops are being withdrawn from this section of the front and redeployed to the Zaporizhzhia Region for assault operations near Orikhiv.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 26, the Naftogaz group of companies said that the Kherson combined heat and power plant is shelled by the occupiers almost every day.

On January 13, the Security Service of Ukraine reported the detention of two agents of the russian special services who, on the instructions of their curators, were preparing to blow up police officers in Kherson.
