The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) has officially denied the information that appeared in the media about the alleged mass departure of 600,000 residents from the capital. The Kyiv City Military Administration spokeswoman Kateryna Pop announced this during a telethon, Radio Liberty reports.

According to her, no unit of the city government has any data that would confirm such statistics. The spokeswoman emphasized that the technical indicators of electricity consumption in the city directly contradict the statements about mass evacuation.

"Such information has not been confirmed by any unit of the Kyiv City Military Administration, and if such a number of subscribers who are provided with electricity services had left, the situation with electricity would probably not have been so critical," said Kateryna Pop.

She explained that the departure of more than half a million people should have significantly relieved the city's power system, which experts have not yet recorded.

"So we see the facts. If such figures are claimed, we do not see the result. Well, didn't they turn off the lights," the spokeswoman summarized.

We remind you that the day before, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in an interview with The Times, that since the beginning of January, about 600,000 people have left the capital due to the consequences of russian strikes on the energy sector.

Meanwhile, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmygal said that power engineers have developed a number of technical solutions that will allow Kyiv to switch to predictable power outage schedules.
