Cabinet appoints German diplomat Anka Feldhusen as Business Ombudsman in Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed German diplomat Anka Feldhusen as the new Business Ombudsman in Ukraine.
This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers order No. 9 dated January 7, which will come into force on February 1, 2026, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The Business Ombudsman Council is an institution that helps entrepreneurs protect their legal rights and interests out of court in their interactions with state authorities.
The continuity of its work is critically important for business trust in state institutions, reducing administrative barriers, and improving the quality of state services for entrepreneurs.
Anka Feldhusen is a German diplomat with many years of experience in foreign policy and international relations. Since the early 1990s, Feldhusen has worked in the German Foreign Ministry, holding various positions in Berlin and abroad, including in Ukraine, Cuba, and in EU structures. She is fluent in Ukrainian.
In 2019-2023, Feldhusen was Germany's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ukraine, becoming one of the key figures in German diplomacy in Kyiv before and during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. Since 2023, she has held the position of Director for Civil Crisis Prevention and Stabilization at the German Federal Foreign Office.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in December 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the appointment of former Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk as Business Ombudsman.
Prior to this, in August 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the appointment of Marcin Święczycki, former mayor of Warsaw (Poland), deputy of the Sejm (parliament) of Poland, as business ombudsman.
