Hetmantsev urges not to look for "betrayal" in peace plan
The peace plan presented by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy contains an exhaustive list of points on security guarantees and the restoration of the state, so there is no point in looking for "betrayal" in it. Danylo Hetmantsev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, taxation and customs policy, wrote this on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, December 24.
Hetmantsev emphasized that peace seems to be much closer now.
"The list of points of the plan is exhaustive. There are guarantees of sovereignty and security - the same as those of NATO allies. There is a commitment to create a recovery investment fund for Ukraine. Undoubtedly, there are "difficult decisions". But there is definitely no point in looking for 'betrayal' in the peace plan," the MP emphasized.
Hetmantsev noted that there are no easy solutions, but he hopes that the peace plan will not be disrupted. According to him, the final decision on the document should be made by the Ukrainian people in a national referendum.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke publicly for the first time about the content of the 20-point peace plan, which has been discussed by Ukraine, the United States and russia for the second month.
On December 23, Zelenskyy said that following meetings with the American side, drafts of several documents had been prepared.
