Yermak's resignation is right decision, and purge of power must continue - Hetmantsev
A member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, reported that the resignation of Andrii Yermak is a somewhat delayed, but still correct decision of the President.
He reported this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
He said that currently in Ukraine there is not a coalition crisis, but an aggravation of political tension in the country.
It lies in the fact that certain corruption crimes have been revealed and the obvious solution to this issue for the faction is to release those persons about whom there is a reasonable suspicion, which they heard from anti-corruption bodies.
This was done with regard to individual members of the Government.
"Ultimately, the resignation of Andrii Yermak is a somewhat delayed, but still correct decision of the President. I am convinced that the process of cleansing the government should continue until we cleanse all known corrupt officials. The point is that the government in war has not only special powers, but also special responsibility. It must be beyond any suspicion of its own honesty, and only this will give it the right to make difficult but necessary decisions. Otherwise, such decisions simply will not be made," the MP emphasized.
According to him, if conclusions are drawn and the government is cleansed, the faction will definitely consolidate and make appropriate decisions.
But if the decisions are half-hearted, and the coalition will be tried to be intimidated through paid Telegram channels with posts about fabricated state treason that are smoldering in the Verkhovna Rada, then the crisis will only intensify.
"And the way out of this crisis may be elections. By the way, I have always supported the idea of elections, even despite the war," Hetmantsev concluded.
We will remind, on November 28, Andrii Yermak wrote a letter of resignation from the post of head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
