Russia attacks gas supply hubs in cities - Energy Ministry
Russian occupants have focused their attacks on the gas transportation system facilities that supply populated areas. Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk announced this during the Energy that keeps Ukraine alive forum, RBC-Ukraine reports.
This is due to a change in tactics on the part of the enemy.
"We see that the enemy has begun to attack some facilities, I will not name them, on which the distribution of natural gas to a particular settlement depends," he said.
According to him, these facilities are not strategic
"But still, the enemy is testing this situation, trying to reduce the capacity of gas transportation to the correct key heat supply facility or other. The enemy has struck a blow to production. There are consequences. And the difference of what we have lost is actually the goal to replace it with imports," he said.
The Deputy Minister noted that more than six strikes were recorded in early October alone, and they continue, and the physical protection of these facilities is being strengthened to protect them from enemy attacks.
As a reminder, emergency power outages in Ukraine may continue for another week. Ukrenergo told about a new tactic of russian attacks on the energy sector: they target distribution substations.
The government has made a number of urgent decisions to accelerate the protection and restoration of critical infrastructure.
