Putin tells how he is going to defend russia against Tomahawks
Kremlin leader vladimir putin has said that russia will strengthen its air defense system in response to the possible delivery of US Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.
According to russian media outlets Interfax and Dozhd, when asked about russia's readiness for such US moves, putin said: "Our response is to strengthen the air defense system of the Russian Federation."
At the same time, he dismissively commented on the discussion of the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, calling it "showing off".
In late September, it became known that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had asked for Tomahawk missiles during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in New York. Zelenskyy later confirmed that he had discussed with the American leader the transfer of long-range missile systems to Ukraine.
On October 7, Trump said that he had made a decision to some extent to supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Putin warned that if Ukraine used them, it would damage relations between moscow and Washington.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump said that he had actually agreed to supply Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.
