Ukraine returns 185 defenders from russian captivity - Zelenskyy

Ukraine has returned 185 defenders from russian captivity and 20 civilians. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel on Thursday, October 2.

Zelenskyy noted that one hundred and eighty-three privates and sergeants, as well as two officers, were returned from russian captivity. All of them are soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service. 20 civilians were also released from captivity.

"Our soldiers were in Mariupol and at Azovstal, the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. Most have been in captivity since 2022 and are now finally at home," the President said.

According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has already returned home more than 7,000 of its people.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 24, Ukraine released a group of Ukrainian military and civilians from captivity.

On August 14, Ukraine returned another 84 Ukrainians from russian captivity, including defenders of Mariupol and civilians.
