Zelenskyy tells where drones were flying to Poland from
Ukraine has provided Poland with information on the movement of russian drones. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Zelenskyy said that he had received an updated report from the commander of the Air Force on the available data on the russian strike that night, and the Ukrainian side is analyzing the details of this russian strike.
"Even at night, the Ukrainian military reported to the Polish side through appropriate channels information on the movement of russian drones. At around 00:50 am Kyiv time, the first crossing of the state border between Ukraine and Poland by a russian drone was recorded. At least two russian drones that flew into Polish territory during the night used the airspace of Belarus. In total, at least several dozen russian drones were moving along the border of Ukraine and Belarus and in the western regions of Ukraine, approaching targets on the territory of Ukraine and, apparently, Poland," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that the number of russian drones that crossed the border of Poland and penetrated significantly into its territory may be higher than the previously announced number; according to updated data, a total of about two dozen russian drones could have moved into Polish airspace that night.
The President reported that Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed more than 380 russian drones of various types, at least 250 of them were Shaheds, accurate information about the types of drones will be established after analyzing the wreckage.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine is ready to expand cooperation with partners for reliable air defense, so that not only information or exchange of intelligence, but also real joint actions in the sky guarantee the safety of neighbors.
"Russia must feel that Europeans know how to defend themselves," he stressed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine is ready to provide Poland with data on the russian drone strike and help build a warning and defense system.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces confirmed the violation of the country's airspace during russia's night attack on Ukraine, and an operation is underway to identify and neutralize the targets.
The military portal Defense Express reported that russia's targeted drone attack on Polish territory on the night of September 10 was part of a long-term escalation plan. Back in early July, 4G modems with Polish and Lithuanian SIM cards were found in the wreckage of russian drones shot down in Ukraine, indicating that the Kremlin is preparing to fly over neighboring countries.
