Total public debt in July up 0.7% to record-breaking USD 186 billion
The total public (direct and guaranteed) debt of Ukraine in July increased by 0.69%, or USD 1.29 billion, to USD 186.13 billion compared to the previous month.
This is stated in the data of the Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The public and state-guaranteed debt at the end of July amounted to UAH 7,773.87 billion, or USD 186.13 billion, compared to UAH 7,696.95 billion, or USD 184.84 billion, a month earlier.
The total amount of direct public debt as of the reporting date amounted to UAH 7,477.52 billion (USD 179.03 billion) compared to UAH 7,402.52 billion (USD 177.77 billion) a month earlier.
At the same time, direct external debt increased from USD 133.57 billion to USD 134.39 billion during the month.
Direct domestic debt increased in hryvnia equivalent from UAH 1,840.61 billion to UAH 1,864.57 billion (in dollar equivalent - from USD 44.20 billion to USD 44.64 billion).
State-guaranteed debt at the end of the reporting month amounted to UAH 296.35 billion, or USD 7.10 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, Ukraine's total state (direct and guaranteed) debt increased by 14.27%, or USD 20.74 billion, to USD 166.06 billion.
In 2023, Ukraine's total public (direct and guaranteed) debt increased by 30.4%, or USD 33.87 billion, to a record-breaking USD 145.32 billion.
In 2022, total public debt increased by USD 13.39 billion, or 13.66%, to USD 111.34 billion.
In 2021, public debt increased by 8.52%, or USD 7.69 billion, to USD 97.95 billion.
In 2020, total public debt increased by 6.9%, from USD 84.4 billion to USD 90.3 billion.
