"Xi wants to meet": Trump announces Jinping's visit to US

US President Donald Trump said that Chinese leader Xi Jinping plans to come to the United States for a personal meeting.

Trump said this in an interview with Breitbart News. According to him, the Chinese leader is "perseveringly seeking a meeting", and it could take place either this year in China or at the White House.

"(Xi) wants me to go there, and he is going to come (to the US)," Trump said.

He also confirmed that he is considering the possibility of visiting China, but only at the official invitation of Xi Jinping. "Otherwise, I am not interested! Thank you for your attention to this issue," the head of the White House added.

Earlier, The Times wrote that Xi Jinping is seeking to organize a trilateral meeting with the participation of Donald Trump and vladimir putin.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 9, US President Donald Trump increased tariffs on China to 125% and announced a 90-day pause for other countries.

On May 11, the White House announced the conclusion of a trade agreement with China.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng are holding a second day of talks to resolve economic issues regarding the trade agreement.
