Kuiun explains why fines for lack of alcohol gasoline at gas stations were canceled

On June 18, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that cancels fines for failure to comply with the norm on the mandatory addition of bioethanol.

The director of the A-95 Consulting Group Serhii Kuiun announced this on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"We have entered the season of increased consumption, demand is growing. Meanwhile, European gasoline producers - our suppliers - cannot satisfy this demand. Because this gasoline is non-standard for Europe, where E10 is consumed. There is only one way out - to temporarily return to E0," the expert wrote.

Kuiun wrote that the government was informed about this situation, and together they found a solution: the law on biofuel works, but fines will not be imposed for non-compliance.

According to him, the necessary volumes of gasoline have already been contracted by the end of the summer, so there will be no shortage.

According to Kuiun, the bio process will continue, and he knows for sure that some have begun designing capacities for mixing gasoline with alcohol in Ukraine (currently, most traders prefer to import the finished mixture).

The expert generally believes that this is a good opportunity to switch to E10 from next year.

It will be easier to buy and we will consume more of our product.

The consumer will not feel it at all, and it will provide a good stimulus to the economy.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, from May 1, a requirement came into force according to which all gasoline with an octane number of less than 98 must contain 5% bioethanol.

Imports of A-98/100 set a historical record, consumers do not want to refuel with gasoline with alcohol.
