Trump surprised by russian missile attack on Kyiv, says he needs to check it out
US President Donald Trump reacted with surprise to another massive russian attack on Kyiv and said he did not know about it and he needs to look into it. He said this while talking to journalists on board Air Force One.
So, it is reported that one of the correspondents asked him to comment on the attack on the Ukrainian capital, but it turned out that the US President did not know about it. He asked the journalist when it happened and received an answer that it had just happened.
"When did it happen? This is bad. I'll check it out and we'll come back to this issue. I need to look at it," the American President told journalists.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 17, Kyiv suffered one of the largest attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion. Russian forces launched a combined strike using kamikaze drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, focusing on residential areas.
On the night of June 17, russia launched 472 airstrikes. Kyiv was again the main target.
Meanwhile, the administration of US President Donald Trump has in recent weeks suspended the activities of an interagency working group that was created to develop pressure measures on russia in order to accelerate peace talks on Ukraine.
