Russia attacks freight train in Donetsk Region, driver injured
Russian occupiers attacked a civilian freight train in the Donetsk Region with the help of a drone (UAV). As a result, the driver was injured.
This is stated in a message of the Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) on Monday, May 12.
"The proposals for a ceasefire are being ignored, enemy attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock continue. Today, another enemy UAV attacked a civilian freight train in the Donetsk Region. As a result of a hit on the locomotive, the driver received a shrapnel wound to the leg," it said.
UZ added that the driver's life is currently out of danger, he was promptly provided with assistance and hospitalized.
It is also noted that the enemy attack did not stop the movement of trains.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of May 2, russian invaders attacked a locomotive repair plant in Zaporizhzhia. The company's on-duty personnel were in shelters, so no one was injured in the attack.
In addition, on May 1, russian troops shelled the railway infrastructure of the Odesa Region. A railway worker was killed then.
