Rada will vote on ratification of mineral resources agreement on May 8 – MP Zhelezniak
A Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, claims that the parliament will vote on ratification of the mineral resources agreement on Thursday, May 8.
He wrote about this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
“In short, about the Agreement. There will be a vote on May 8. For sure,” he wrote.
According to him, the situation looks strange, since there are no texts of the agreements, but instead the factions have been invited to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Economy.
At the same time, he reported that the Servant of the People faction will meet only a few hours before the vote itself.
Zhelezniak also predicted two possible scenarios: either the deputies will be provided with the full texts of the agreements and explanations, or a “traditional” vote will take place under the pressure of political expediency.
"The probability of the first is about 5%, and the second is 95% certain," he added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers is asking the Verkhovna Rada to ratify the agreement on minerals by May 8.
