Ukraine imposes definitive anti-dumping duties on matches from India - Ilyashev and Partners

Ukraine has achieved the application of definitive anti-dumping measures based on the results of an investigation into the import of matches originating in the Republic of India into Ukraine.

This is announced in a statement by the law firm Ilyashev and Partners, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Following the results of the anti-dumping investigation, on April 16, 2025, the Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade adopted decision No. AD-572/2025/441-01 on the application of a definitive anti-dumping duty at the level of 35.7% on the import into Ukraine of goods originating in the Republic of India, which have the following description: matches, except for pyrotechnic articles of commodity heading 3604, classified under code 3605 00 00 00 according to the Ukrainian classification of goods of foreign economic activity," the statement said.

The decision was published on April 18 in the Uriadovyi Kurier [Government Courier] newspaper.

It is noted that the final anti-dumping duty will be applied for a period of five years and will be accrued 30 days after the date of publication of the decision of the Interdepartmental Commission in the newspaper Government Courier.

The anti-dumping duty will be levied by customs authorities regardless of the payment of other taxes and fees (mandatory payments).

The application of final anti-dumping measures will not create obstacles to customs clearance of goods.

The report states that the decision to initiate and conduct an anti-dumping investigation based on the results of consideration of the complaint of LLC "Ukrainian Match Factory", prepared by the international trade practice team of the law firm "Ilyashev & Partners", was adopted by the Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade on April 12, 2024.

LLC "Ukrainian Match Factory" was founded in 1995, the production facilities of the enterprise are located in the Rivne region.

The factory's design capacity is 630 million matchboxes per year.

The company's products are supplied to all regions of Ukraine and beyond.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has achieved the introduction of definitive anti-dumping measures on the import of heating radiators originating in the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Turkey into Ukraine.
