Media finds out in which sections of front Ukrainian command expects russians to become more active

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are strengthening the front section in the Sumy Region as part of preparations for a possible offensive by the aggressor country's army in most directions.

The RBC-Ukraine agency reported this with reference to its own sources.

The agency's unnamed sources told the agency that the leadership of the Ukrainian Defense Forces assumes that the russians may launch offensive actions in the north of the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions.

In addition, the option of a russian offensive in the direction of the Chernihiv Region is not excluded. Although it is considered "unlikely" due to unfavorable geographical conditions.

The RBC-Ukraine interlocutors consider the likelihood of the encirclement of Sumy by russian troops to be low, since the Ukrainian Defense Forces are "preparing for various options for action."

The Ukrainian command also believes that in addition to the north, the occupiers may become more active in the area of Siversk of the Donetsk Region and on the front line in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

In addition, the russians may probably become more active on the islands in the area of Kherson and try to break through to the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Region from the Donetsk Region.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 9, the "Left Bank" publication published an interview with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, in which he confirmed the actual start of the russian offensive on the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions.

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Syrskyi’s words do not imply that fundamental changes have occurred on the front, since the actions of the occupiers in the north are part of the offensive they launched in May 2024.
