So, administration representatives have warned that Trump may suddenly decide that he wants to talk to putin. But he was advised that a phone call is not a good idea until putin tells the White House that he agrees to a full ceasefire in the russian-Ukrainian war.

Meanwhile, russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev met with White House officials and Republican lawmakers at the White House, according to sources familiar with the meetings. It is not known whether Trump was present at any point during the meeting.
