Russia preparing provocation in Mykolaiv to blame Ukraine for it - CCD

Russia has spread a fake that the Ukrainian military is preparing a provocation in Mykolaiv to disrupt agreements on stopping strikes on energy facilities and to blame russia for this. The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council reported this on Telegram.

"Propagandists claim that special groups have been created in the city to prepare the operation, and are bringing a large number of fragments of russian Shahed drones and explosives. Such reports may indicate that russia is preparing a provocation and strikes on the city," the report says.

The CCD notes that this is a classic example of the enemy using the tactic of an information alibi to justify its own actions. "ru-propaganda is preemptively accusing Ukraine of actions that will be committed by russia itself," the Center reported.

In this way, the russian federation seeks to shift responsibility for Ukraine's failure to comply with its ceasefire obligations on energy infrastructure and to mislead Ukraine's international partners.

Following the results of the US negotiations with Ukraine and the aggressor country of russia in Saudi Arabia, all parties agreed to ensure safe shipping in the Black Sea and to implement a ban on strikes on energy infrastructure.

On March 26, Advisor to the President of Ukraine Dmytro Lytvyn stated that after the declaration of a ceasefire regarding strikes on energy facilities, at least eight hits on Ukrainian energy facilities have been recorded since March 18.
