Zelenskyy did not receive invitation from Trump to visit White House again
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he has not received an invitation from the US President to visit the White House again, although the American leader said that he is ready for this meeting. The Ukrainian leader believes that any of his meetings with the US President should be carefully prepared.
He said this at a meeting with journalists on March 12.
"I have not heard about the invitation. I think that any of our meetings with the American President should end with a positive result for both sides. This is how we should approach any of our meetings. Today, the reaction of our societies is like this, it is vital. And I would really like us to have a result, a positive result for people. People have been fighting, fighting for a very long time and deserve to have light. I want any of our meetings with the US President to be positive, for this we need to prepare everyone, warn everyone about one or another format of our meetings," the President explained.
The President also spoke about the talks between Ukraine and the United States that took place in Jeddah. According to him, the American side wanted to see Ukraine's readiness for diplomatic solutions.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak said that Ukraine had expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to immediately introduce a temporary, 30-day ceasefire.
As a reminder, on March 11, Yermak announced the arrival of a Ukrainian delegation to Saudi Arabia for talks between Ukraine and the United States.
On March 11, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said that the talks between Ukraine and the United States were "getting there."
