American investors have clear interest in Ukrainian lithium - member of rare earth metals commission

A member of the government commission dealing with rare earth metals, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Andrii Zhupanyn, reported that investors from the United States of America have a clear interest in lithium mining in Ukraine.

He noted this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.

"It can be said with certainty that there is now a clear interest from American investors in lithium," he said regarding the agreement between Ukraine and the US on subsoil.

At the same time, Zhupanyn does not see any interest or applications from American investors for Ukrainian uranium mining.

The commission member admits that the subsoil agreement with the US will somehow encourage American investors to pay attention to the uranium industry in Ukraine.

According to him, the agreement with the US does not make exceptions for some investors and does not prohibit others from participating in competitive selection.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy failed to answer when Ukraine and the United States would be able to sign an agreement on minerals and rare earth minerals.

On February 28, Zelenskyy said that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States on minerals is not enough to end the full-scale war being waged by the aggressor country of russia.

As a reminder, on February 28, Zelenskyy got into a heated argument with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
