They exposed themselves: russian Defense Ministry report helped expose Lavrov's lies in negotiations with US
The aggressor country russia has once again become entangled in its own statements. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the russian army allegedly does not attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities. At the same time, the russian Ministry of Defense announced today a strike on such a facility.
This is evidenced by reports from russian media.
According to RIA Novosti, Lavrov said after a meeting with U.S. representatives in Saudi Arabia that the Americans had proposed introducing a moratorium on attacks on energy facilities.
At the same time, Lavrov said that the russian army allegedly never "endangered" civilian energy supply systems.
"We explained that we never endangered the energy supply systems of the population, and our targets were only those facilities that directly serve the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Lavrov said.
He did not specify what he meant by "civilian energy supply systems" and whether there are "non-civilian systems."
The russian publication ASTRA drew attention to the fact that this morning the russian Ministry of Defense reported in its summary that russian troops "defeated military airfield and energy infrastructure facilities of Ukraine."
The russian Ministry of Defense published a similar message on February 14.
The russian Ministry of Defense also reported about strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in early February.
Similar messages are found on the Telegram channel of the russian Ministry of Defense until August 2022.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of February 16, as a result of an attack by russian drones, electricity generation at the Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant (TPP) was stopped.
Recall, on February 14, the KSE Institute published a report on Ukraine's losses as a result of russian military aggression. It estimated the losses in the energy sector at USD 14.6 billion and recalled that the russians destroyed the Kakhovka and Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plants, as well as the Trypillia and Zmiivka Thermal Power Plants.
