US Embassy warns of heightened threat of air strikes on Ukraine
The U.S. Embassy has urged its citizens to exercise heightened caution due to the increased threat from missiles and drones from the aggressor country russia, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv said in a statement on Sunday, December 8.
“Due to increased threats from Russian missiles and drones targeting Ukraine’s critical civilian infrastructure, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv urges U.S. citizens to exercise heightened caution,” the statement said.
US citizens were also urged to monitor air alerts, seek shelter during air alerts, and abide by all government curfews.
The U.S. Embassy advised the following actions to take:
- Identify shelter locations in advance of any air alert.
- Download a reliable air alert app to your mobile phone, such as Air Alert or Alarm Map.
- Immediately take shelter if an air alert is announced.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Keep reserves of water, food, and medication.
- Follow the directions of Ukrainian officials and first responders in the event of an emergency.
Besides, the U.S. Embassy reminded what the Department of State Can and Cannot Do in a Crisis.
As the Ukrainian News agency reported, on November 20, the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv warned of a possible air strike on Ukraine.
