Rada promises to return norm on confiscation of property from corrupt officials
The Verkhovna Rada is going to correct the conflict due to which the confiscation of property from corrupt officials was canceled.
The press service of the parliament announced this with reference to the statement of the head of the committee on law enforcement Serhii Ionushas, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Together with colleagues from the Verkhovna Rada, we are working to return the norm on the possibility of applying confiscation of property in the event of an agreement in criminal proceedings as soon as possible. We understand the need for a model in the current legislation when such confiscation is possible as an additional punishment. This legal construct will be returned to the Criminal Code," he said.
According to him, the conflict will be eliminated in the next plenary week.
Ionushas recalled that due to a technical and legal error, the norms of the adopted presidential bill on awards overlapped with the norms of the bill on agreements with the investigation.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada has allowed the deprivation of state awards for popularizing or propagandizing the aggressor state of russia or committing other illegal actions against Ukraine.
The corresponding bill was submitted by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in July.
