Night attack by drones and ballistics. AFU shoot down 8 drones, air defense works in 5 regions

On the night of Monday, November 18, the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and 11 drones. Air defense forces shot down 8 UAVs.

The command of the Air Forces has reported this.

"On the night of November 18, 2024 (from 7:30 p.m. on November 17), the enemy attacked the Sumy Region with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Voronezh Oblast and a Kh-59 guided air missile from the airspace of the Kursk Oblast — the Russian Federation. Also from the Kursk Oblast, the enemy launched 11 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and unmanned aerial vehicles of an unspecified type," the message reads.

It is reported that eight attack drones were shot down by air defense in the Poltava, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Kyiv Regions. Three UAVs were lost in location.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of November 17, the aggressor country russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukrainian energy facilities with various types of air-, land-, and sea-based missiles, as well as Shahed-type attack drones.

Meanwhile, as a result of an enemy strike on Sumy, 11 people, including two children, were killed, 84 people were injured, including 11 children.
