Mobilization of men of limited fitness under age of 25. Zelenskyy still has not signed law on ban

For almost a month, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not signed the law on the deferral of those liable for military service under the age of 25, who are deemed unfit for military service in peacetime and limited fit in wartime due to their health.

This was stated on the card of the bill No. 11379-d, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

A total of 311 MPs voted for the bill No. 11379-d with the minimum required 226.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on October 9.

On October 15, the Speaker of the Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk signed the law and on the same day the document was sent to the President for his signature.

As of the morning of November 12, the law has not been signed.

Only after signing by Zelenskyy and publication in the Voice of Ukraine newspaper the law will enter into force.

The law provides a deferral from conscription for military service during mobilization for those liable for military service up to the age of 25, who were recognized as having limited fitness during wartime until March 21, 2024.

The provision on dismissal from service of the relevant category of citizens, who managed to mobilize before the adoption of this law, was removed from the bill for the second reading.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will stop mobilizing men of limited fitness between the ages of 18 and 25.
