Ukraine returns bodies of 563 fallen Defenders
The bodies of 563 fallen Defenders were returned to Ukraine as a result of repatriation measures.
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported this on the Telegram channel on Friday, November 8.
It was possible to return to Ukraine 320 bodies of Defenders who were killed on the Donetsk axis, 89 who fell on the Bakhmut axis, as well as 154 bodies from morgues in the territory of the aggressor country of russia.
"The fallen Defenders were returned thanks to the cooperation of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War with the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Central Administration of Civil-Military Cooperation) , State Emergency Service of Ukraine, other representatives of the structures of the Security and Defense Sector of Ukraine," the message reads.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport repatriated bodies and remains to designated state institutions. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic medical experts will identify the victims.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in August, Ukraine managed to return the bodies of 250 fallen defenders to the controlled territory.
On May 31, the bodies of 212 fallen Ukrainian soldiers were returned to Ukraine.
In July, Ukraine returned another 95 defenders from russian captivity.
