Rada Budget Committee agrees to increase salaries of prosecutors by UAH 3 billion in 2025 – MP Zhelezniak
The Budget Committee of the Verkhovna Rada has agreed to increase the salaries of prosecutors in 2025 by 37%, i.e. by UAH 3 billion.
Verkhovna Rada Member Yaroslav Zhelezniak wrote about this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"At the insistence of parliamentarians from the specialized committee and the First Deputy Prosecutor General, Mr. Khomenko + the head of the Council of Prosecutors... the Budget Committee nevertheless REJECTED the amendment, which removes the increase in prosecutors' salaries by almost UAH 3 billion. This is a 37% increase," he wrote.
According to him, in this way the amendments (155, 999 and 1000 from Tsabal and Yuzhanina) about not increasing the salaries of prosecutors by UAH 3 billion, which were taken into account and recommended by the working group, will not be accepted.
"In fact, the Committee agreed to increase the salaries of prosecutors in the budget in 2025," Zhelezniak emphasized.
He added that 14 members of the Committee supported such a decision, 4 abstained and 1 voted against.
"It is a very "timely" decision. It is now necessary to raise the salaries of prosecutors," the MP got outraged.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Rada proposes to equalize the accrual of disability pensions for prosecutors with other citizens. The Prosecutor General's Office found almost 30% of prosecutors with disabilities in the Khmelnytskyi and Cherkasy Regions.
