Third Assault Brigade calls to prepare Dnipropetrovsk Region for defense against background of situation in Donetsk Region
Major Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, believes that the Dnipropetrovsk Region should start preparing for defense now.
The officer wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the Defense Forces of Ukraine should not move from town to town, simultaneously preparing them for defense "as quickly as possible".
He drew attention to the situation that is currently developing near Pokrovsk and Selydove. These are the last large settlements in the west of the Donetsk Region, after which the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk Region begins after a few tens of kilometers.
"All this must be planned and a strong line of defense must be built in advance. Instead of waiting for the front line to reach the next settlement <...> The Dnipropetrovsk Region must be prepared already. And control this process," Zhorin wrote.
Zhorin's comment was made against the background of news that the russian occupiers managed to enter Selydove.
According to the analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState, the situation in the area of the town is as follows.
Earlier today, the UK Ministry of Defense said in its intelligence review that the russians are likely already in the central part of Selydove.
There it was also assumed that in the event of the capture of Selydove, the russians may try to launch an offensive in the direction of Pokrovsk along the E50 route.
Selydove is located approximately 25 kilometers from the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Pokrovsk - 16 kilometers.
