US presidential candidate Harris will meet with Zelenskyy in Washington next week - Bloomberg

Vice President of the United States, a presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Kamala Harris plans to meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Washington next week.

Bloomberg announced this with reference to a person familiar with the matter, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Thus, the publication's sources reported that during his visit to the U.S., Zelenskyy will insist on Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union, the conclusion of economic and security agreements, as well as the continuation of supplies of more modern weapons as part of his "plan of victory".

Zelenskyy is to present this plan to U.S. President Joe Biden when they meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly later this month.

In addition, he is going to share plans with Harris and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The newspaper recalled that during last week's presidential debate, Trump twice refused to answer whether he wanted Ukraine to win the war, saying instead that he wanted the fighting to stop and that he would like the leaders of the two countries to meet and work out a deal.

Harris, however, seized on Trump's comments, saying that russian president vladimir putin "would be sitting in Kyiv looking at the rest of Europe" if Trump had not lost to President Joe Biden in 2020.

Also, the upcoming meeting between Zelenskyy and Harris was previously reported by CNN.
