Cabinet dismisses Deputy Social Policy Minister Tanasyshyn, he says he will not fight against windmills
The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Deputy Minister of Social Policy Nazar Tanasyshyn.
This is stated in the message of the government on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"At its meeting on July 30, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted an order on the dismissal of Tanasyshyn Nazar Dmytrovych from the post of Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine," the message reads.
The notice does not specify the reason for his dismissal.
At the same time, Tanasyshyn announced on Facebook that he had decided to end his work as Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine "because it is worth moving on."
He believes that over the past year and a half, he managed to achieve significant results in the areas that were included in his ministerial portfolio, in particular in the areas of protection of children's rights, social protection of persons with disabilities, and humanitarian aid.
In addition, he coordinated litigation and claims work and the corruption prevention sector in the ministry.
"We must speak honestly - quasi-experts and individual actors are always juggling the objects of these policies. I hope everyone understands that in a time of war, this is an open undermining of national security. The decisions of my team by nature could not be popular. But I am proud that today I can confidently say that they are effective. I remain an incorrigible optimist and want to believe that in the end there will be a sufficient pool of professional people who will be enough for the correct shifts in the system of power. When I came to the ministry, I had requests for rationality and justice. I made a promise to myself that I would not lose my true self, be productive and not fight against windmills. And I always keep my promises," he wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in February 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed lawyer Tanasyshyn as Deputy Minister of Social Policy.
Then the Minister of Social Policy, Oksana Zholnovych, on her Facebook page, introduced Tanasyshyn as a professional lawyer, a lawyer with considerable experience in human rights work, who already has experience working in the Ministry of Social Policy's team as an adviser to the minister.
Zholnovych assured that he has thorough knowledge and experience to build a fair and effective social system. According to her, Tanasyshyn will be responsible for the protection of the rights of people in difficult life circumstances, in particular people with disabilities, his duties will include the development of the volunteer movement and the formation of new mechanisms for providing humanitarian aid, and he will also provide legal support for issues handled by the ministry.
Tanasyshyn is the founder and was the head of the "Tanasyshyn, Mykhalevskyi and Partners" bar association (Lviv).
