Situation in energy sector stabilized thanks to cooling and repairs at two NPP units - Shmyhal
The situation in the energy sector stabilized thanks to the early completion of repairs at two units of nuclear power plants and a decrease in air temperature.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Tuesday, July 30.
Shmyhal noted that preparations for the autumn-winter period are currently continuing. According to him, state support programs for the construction of distributed generation and the development of alternative sources have already been launched.
"Thanks to the early completion of repairs at two units of nuclear power plants and the drop in air temperature, the situation in the energy sector has stabilized," Shmyhal said.
In addition, businesses and individuals are given loans to strengthen energy sustainability, and from July 27, citizens and businesses can import electric generators, inverters, batteries, charging stations, etc. at a preferential rate, the Prime Minister emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 30, Yurii Boiko, adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine on energy issues, said that in the coming months, power outages may be insignificant.
On July 26, the chairman of the board of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, said that probably the most difficult period of summer for the energy industry is behind us.
We will remind, on July 24, Energoatom launched the second NPP power unit in July after repairs.
