Zelenskyy visits advanced command post of Special Operations Forces in Kharkiv Region near Vovchansk

On the Day of Special Operations Forces (SOF), President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the advanced command post of the SOF in the Kharkiv axis near Vovchansk.

This is stated in the message of the Office of the President, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Zelenskyy congratulated the soldiers on the holiday and honored them with state awards.

The President emphasized that SOF soldiers are fighting on the hottest areas of the front - successfully conducting special operations and completing tasks.

"Please take care of yourself. Today you are on this axis, it is probably one of the most difficult. The whole country is counting on you, we will definitely win," he said.

Zelenskyy and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi listened to the report of the Commander of the Special Operations Forces, Oleksandr Trepak, regarding the strategy for the development of the SOF and the completed and planned tasks.

Trepak spoke about the three main areas of activity of the SOF: psychological operations and non-kinetic actions, the movement of resistance in temporarily occupied territories and the actions of special forces units.

They also discussed further reforming and development of SOF capabilities in accordance with modern challenges and using the best global and domestic experience acquired since 2014.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in May, Zelenskyy dismissed Serhii Lupanchuk from the position of commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed Oleksandr Trepak to this position.

On July 29, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
