86 combat clashes take place at the front during the day; most intense fighting continues on Pokrovske and Kurakhove Axes – General Staff
On July 16, a total of 86 combat engagements took place at the front, the largest number being on the Pokrovske (19), and Kurakhove (17) Axes.
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
During the day, the enemy launched three missile strikes at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, as well as 46 airstrikes, dropping 82 anti-aircraft missiles; in addition, the russians used 417 kamikaze drones to destroy and carried out more than 3,000 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
On July 16, a total of 86 combat clashes with the russian occupiers were recorded.
So, on the Kharkiv Axis, the enemy attacked five times near Vovchansk and Hlyboke.
On the Kupiyansk Axis, the enemy carried out offensive assaults nine times in the areas of Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Berestove, and Andriyivka.
On the Lyman Axis, during the day, the russian invaders unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian positions near Nevske and Makiyivka six times.
On the Pivnichne Axis, the enemy advanced in the areas of Verkhniokamiyanske, Sieverne, and Pereyizne.
On the Kramatorsk Axis, at 10 p.m., two skirmishes continued near Klishchiyivka.
On the Toretsk Axis, the russians attacked the defense forces near Pivnichne, Toretsk, and Niu York seven times.
The russian invaders were most active on the Pokrovske Axis: since the beginning of the day, they have tried 19 times to break through the defenses near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Prohres, and Novoselivka Persha.
On the Kurakhove Axis, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiyivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviyivka 17 times.
On the Vremivka Axis, the invaders carried out offensive actions near Vodiane and Kostiantynivka.
On the Dnipro and Orikhiv Axes, all efforts of the occupiers to suppress Ukrainian units were also unsuccessful.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 15, a total of 119 combat clashes took place at the front, the largest number being on the Pokrovske (31), Kurakhove (17), and Toretsk (14) Axes.
