Interior Ministry To Create Female Police Unit To Fight Family Violence

The Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine has decided to create a female police unit to fight family violence.

Deputy Minister Anastasiya Deyeva announced this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

She gave no further details.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has submitted a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada on prevention and fighting family violence to bring the Ukrainian legislation in line with the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention).
