Ukraine and Greece begin preparing bilateral agreement on security guarantees - Zelenskyy
Ukraine and Greece have begun preparing a bilateral agreement on security cooperation.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this at a press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“Together with Greece we began preparing a bilateral agreement on security guarantees - our cooperation in the field of security. I hope that soon our teams will prepare the agreement for signing," Zelenskyy said.
He added that the agreement should record the level of cooperation and support achieved for this year, as well as for the next ten years. According to Zelenskyy, it is long-term security cooperation that gives the best results.
"Also this year we must work as actively as possible to reduce Russia's ability to finance aggression. The less money Putin has, the less people he can kill. He wants no peace, no diplomacy. Therefore, it is necessary to further strengthen sanctions against Russia and punish Russian killers for everything they have done. It's important to help our defense. It is important to limit the economic potential of Russian terrorists. It is important to support the work of the International Criminal Court and counteract Russian disinformation," the president said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a russian missile attacked at 11:43 a.m. on Wednesday the motorcade of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was 150 meters from the Greek mission under the leadership of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
On July 12, the leaders of the G7 states (the U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Japan) agreed on a joint declaration to support Ukraine, it is a step towards concluding bilateral security agreements.
