Agrarians sow 2.2 million hectares with winter crops

Agricultural enterprises have sown 2,179,000 hectares with winter crops, including 1,038,000 hectares of winter rapeseed and 1,141,000 hectares of winter cereals (wheat - 1,024,000 hectares, barley - 74,000 hectares and rye - 42,000 hectares).

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Over the previous week, farmers sowed 556,000 hectares of winter crops.

As of the end of September, most of the winter crops had been sown in the Dnipropetrovsk Region: cereals - 116,300 hectares, rapeseed - 111,900 hectares.

The Volyn Region is the leader in rye sowing - 11,000 hectares.

Barley is most planted in the Vinnytsia Region - 7,400 hectares.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early September, farmers began sowing winter crops.
