AFU destroy almost 700 invaders and 36 artillery systems. General Staff names Russia’s losses for past day
According to data as of Wednesday morning, July 5, the Ukrainian military eliminated 670 Russian soldiers per day, the total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 231,700 soldiers. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 36 artillery systems and more than 20 units of automobile equipment and tankers.
This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to July 05, 2023 approximately amounted to:
- personnel - about 231,700 (+670) persons were liquidated,
- tanks - 4,062 (+3) units,
- armored fighting vehicles - 7,917 (+9) units,
- artillery systems - 4,288 (+36) units,
- MLRS - 656 (+9) units,
- air defense equipment - 395 (+1) units,
- aircraft - 315 units,
- helicopters - 309 units,
- UAV of operational-tactical level - 3,614 (+12),
- cruise missiles - 1,264,
- ships/boats - 18 units,
- automotive equipment and tank trucks - 6,865 (+22) units,
- special equipment - 598 (+8) units.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Defense Forces are advancing on the southern and northern flanks around Bakhmut, and Ukrainian sniper groups and "some other units" are operating in the city itself.
Meanwhile, over the past week, the Defense Forces liberated 9 square kilometers in the east of Ukraine and another 28.4 square kilometers in the south. Ukrainian troops are conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdiansk directions.
