Water Level In Kakhovka Reservoir May Be Below 7 Meters - Ukrhydroenergo

After the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant’s dam by the Russian occupiers, the water level in the reservoir could fall below 7 meters. This was reported by the Telegram channel of Ukrhydroenergo.

"Based on the results of studying photos and video materials from UAVs, Ukrhydroenergo specialists determined that the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir can be below 7 meters," the report said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ihor Syrota, director general of the Ukrhydroenergo energy generating company, said that it would take 6 years to dismantle the Kakhovka HEPP and build a new hydroelectric power plant.

The explosion, which the Russians staged at the Kakhovka HEPP, completely destroyed the engine room from the inside. Now the station is not recoverable.

Syrota spoke about the current situation due to the Kakhovka HEPP destruction by the Russians.

In the Kherson Region, a number of restrictions were introduced due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HEPP by the Russian invaders. In particular, they concern a ban on entry to flooded settlements. Residents were banned from entering the Korabel neighborhood in Kherson, while there is an examination of the security situation.

In addition, the flooding of a large territory in the south of Ukraine has not yet led to cholera in the Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odesa Regions. However, for several days in a row, rotavirus is found.

Syrota believes that the Russians will not be able to destroy the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant.
