Trading Volume On PFTS Down 15% To UAH 16.7 Billion In February

In February 2023, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange amounted to UAH 16.7 billion (85% of the level of January 2023), or 67% of the total trading volume of the organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.

The exchange said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In January-February 2023, the total volume of trading on PFTS amounted to UAH 36.3 billion (76% of the level of the same period in 2022), or 65% of the total volume of trading of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.

In the trading structure for February, the share of state bonds was 96.5% (UAH 16.1 billion), bonds of a foreign state - 2.5% (UAH 0.4 billion), corporate bonds - 1% (UAH 0.2 billion).

In the "market of applications" 18% of transactions were concluded, in the "market of quotations" (including address agreements) - 82% of transactions.

In February 2023, 35 bidders at PFTS entered into transactions with 29 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 27, corporate bonds - 1, bonds of a foreign state - 1).

In January-February 2023, 36 bidders entered into transactions with 43 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 35, government foreign loan bonds - 1, shares of foreign issuers - 1, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 2, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 2, bonds of a foreign state - 2).

Among the 27 issues of government bonds with which transactions were concluded in February, 19 issues were with repayment dates in 2023 (UAH 5.3 billion), 4 issues - with repayment dates in 2024 (UAH 1.6 billion), 2 issues - with repayment dates in 2025 (UAH 7.6 billion), 1 issue - with repayment date in 2026 (UAH 1.6 billion), and 1 issue - with repayment date in 2027 (UAH 0.06 billion).

Since July 26, the PFTS has begun trading in foreign currency denominated government domestic loan bonds.

In February 2023, the volume of exchange contracts with government bonds, executed in the currency of denomination, amounted to USD 65 million and EUR 2.5 million (14.8% of the total trading volume).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January 2023, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange increased by 46% to UAH 19.6 billion over December 2022.

The PFTS stock exchange is one of the largest organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.

The PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in S&P Emerging Markets since 1997.
