Number Of Injured Children Up 1 To 387 Since Start Of Russia's Invasion Of Ukraine

The number of killed children over the past day, April 22, has not changed and is 208, the number of injured has increased by 1 to 387 since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General's Office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"As of the morning of April 23, 2022, 595 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of a full-scale armed invasion of the Russian Federation into our state. The official number of child victims over the past two days has remained unchanged - 208. The number of wounded has increased - 387," the statement says.

According to the data of juvenile prosecutors, children suffered the most in Donetsk region - 120, Kyiv region - 113, Kharkiv region - 91, Chernihiv region - 66, Kherson region - 44, Mykolaiv region - 41, Luhansk region - 37, Zaporizhzhia region - 25, Sumy region - 17; the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhytomyr region - 15.

On April 20, as a result of shelling by the military of the aggressor country of civilian infrastructure facilities in Polohivskyi district of Zaporizhzhia region, a 5-year-old child was injured.

As a result of daily bombardments and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages, the Russian military damaged 1,500 educational institutions, of which 102 were completely destroyed.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on April 11, Ukraine and Lithuania agreed to cooperate in the field of protecting children affected by the war in Ukraine.

On March 19, the occupiers illegally took to Russia 2,389 children who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
