Number Of Injured Children Up 6 To 373 Since Start Of Russia's Invasion Of Ukraine
The number of killed children over the past day, April 19, has not changed and stands at 205, the number of injured has increased by 6 to 373 since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General's Office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"578 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of April 20, the official number of killed children has not changed - 205. The number of injured has increased - 373," the statement says.
According to the data of juvenile prosecutors, children suffered the most in Donetsk region - 118, Kyiv region - 108, Kharkiv region - 91, Chernihiv region - 57, Kherson region - 43, Mykolaiv region - 40, Luhansk region - 36, Zaporizhzhia region - 25, the capital - 16, Sumy region - 16 , Zhytomyr - region 15.
It became known that on March 15 in the village of Stara Buda, Buchanskyi district, Kyiv region, as a result of the shelling of a residential building, 2 children aged 6 and 8 were injured, who on the same day were forcibly transferred to Mozyr (Belarus) by the Russian military.
On April 18, as a result of the shelling of a residential area in the village of Berestove, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, a 16-year-old teenager was injured.
Due to the bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 1,141 educational institutions were damaged, of which 99 were completely destroyed.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on April 11, Ukraine and Lithuania agreed to cooperate in the field of protecting children affected by the war in Ukraine.
On March 19, the occupiers illegally took to Russia 2,389 children who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
