Farmak Warehouse Burns Down Near Makariv, Kyiv Region; Losses Estimated At UAH 1.5 Billion

A warehouse belonging to the Farmak joint-stock company, a major drug manufacturer based in Kyiv, has burned down near Makariv (Kyiv region).

Farmak board member Petro Chernyshov announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Farmak warehouse was located near Makariv. As far as we understand, there was a tank battle in the area and our warehouse completely burned down. The company lost about UAH 1.5 billion," he wrote.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, seven civilians were killed on March 18 as a result of a mortar strike on Makariv.

Farmak exports its products to more than 20 countries. It has a portfolio of 220 product dossiers.

The company has 20 production lines that meet GMP requirements.

The European regulatory authorities have certified 14 of its production lines.

Farmak has been operating its own complex for production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (the API production department) in the city of Shostka since 2015. The planned capacity of the complex is 100 tons of active pharmaceutical ingredients per year.
