Court Arrests Property Of Odesa Mayor Trukhanov And Deputy Mayor Vuhelman
The Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv has ordered arrest of all property of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov and deputy mayor Pavlo Vuhelman.
A source in the court announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.
According to the court, the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv issued the order last week following a motion from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO) and the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NACB).
The court ordered to arrest real estate property of Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov and deputy mayor Pavlo Vuhelman and a collection of watches of the mayor.
According to the source, the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv did not order to arrest only cash. The other property mentioned in open registers and declarations is under arrest.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv Appeal Court has begun to consider an appeal against a ruling of the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv which refused to arrest Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov and Deputy Mayor of Odesa Pavlo Vuhelman suspected of embezzlement during the sale of the Krayan plant.
On February 15, the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv refused to authorize arrest of Mayor Trukhanov and freed him on surety.
Member of Parliament Dmytro Holubov of the faction of the Solidarity Bloc of Petro Poroshenko offered to stand surety for Trukhanov.
