Ukraine Signs Economic Cooperation Agreement With Portugal

Ukraine has signed an intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation with Portugal.

The presidential press service announced this in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

First Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv signed the agreement on behalf of Ukraine.

The agreement was signed during President Petro Poroshenko's official visit to Portugal on Monday.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Portuguese Ministry of Education also signed a memorandum of mutual understanding on cooperation in the areas of youth, physical education, and sports during the visit.

In addition, Ukraine's State Archive Service and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum of mutual understanding on cooperation in the archival sphere. Cooperation between the parties will take the form of organization of joint research of archival documents, sharing of experience, and replenishment of archival funds and collections.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has proposed joint development of a fire-fighting aircraft at the facilities of the Antonov state aircraft manufacturing enterprise (Kyiv) with Portugal.
