Healthcare Ministry: Medical Reform Envisages Free Services To Pregnant Women

The Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine says the medical reform envisages that medical services related to pregnancy will be financed from the state budget.

The press service of the Healthcare Ministry announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Healthcare Ministry refers to an article of draft bill No.6327.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine intends to create a mechanism for financing medical services through a state joint health insurance system.

The first reading of the relevant draft law (No. 6327) was approved by 227 votes, with 226 votes required for its approval.

The Justice Ministry intends to complete the transition to an insurance-based health system by 2020.
