IMF May Disburse 3 Loan Tranches Totaling USD 4.4 Billion To Ukraine In 2017 If It Fulfils All Conditions

The International Monetary Fund may disburse three loan tranches totaling USD 4.4 billion to Ukraine in 2017 if the country fulfils all the conditions of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) loan program.

The IMF's Director of Communications Gerry Rice announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"There will be three more revisions of the program this year if Ukraine progresses according to plan. It depends on implementation of reforms," he said.

According to Rice, the program provides for disbursement of three loan tranches totaling USD 4.465 billion.

He noted that Ukraine should implement pension and land reform, conduct transparent privatization, and continue the fight against corruption this year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has received four loan tranches totaling USD 8.5 billion under the International Monetary Fund's Extended Funding Facility (EFF) loan program since implementation of the program began in March 2015.

The National Bank of Ukraine expects Ukraine to receive three more tranches of the EFF loan totaling about USD 4.5 billion by the end of 2017.
