NBU Expects IMF Mission To Arrive In Ukraine In Near Future

The National Bank of Ukraine expects a mission from the International Monetary Fund to arrive in Ukraine in the near future.

The National Bank of Ukraine's deputy head Oleh Churyi announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"A mission will arrive in the near future. There will be an official announcement when it arrives," he said.

The mission's visit will involve the fourth review of the program of cooperation between Ukraine and the IMF.

Following the review, Ukraine is expected to receive the fifth IMF loan tranche before the end of the second quarter.

The amount of the loan tranche is expected to be USD 1.9 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the IMF executive board completed the third review of its Extended Fund Facility (EFF) loan program for Ukraine on April 3.

The completion of this review allows disbursement of 734.05 million special drawing rights (about USD 1 billion) to Ukraine.

This will increase the total amount loans disbursed to Ukraine USD 8.38 billion since 2015.
