Defense Ministry's Intelligence Department: 35,000 Militants, 6,000 Russian Career Military Men In Donbas
The Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine says 35,000 militants and 6,000 career military men of the Russian Federation are in the occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Vadym Skibytskyi, the spokesperson of the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"35,000. This is the first and the second army corps (of militants) and close to 6,000 servicemen of other regular units (of Russia) who are on the territory of our country," he said.
Vadym Skibytskyi says the strength of the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine has not changed much since August.
He says partial rotation of Russian troops is underway. The main rotation was in July and August.
Vadym Skibytskyi says Russian military hold key positions in the illegal armed formations in Donbas.
Vadym Skibytskyi says all logistic provision of militants is provided under control of Russia.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Defense Ministry of Ukraine said in September there were 7,000 Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.
